Policies – Laru Beya Resort

We accommodate travelers of all ages — couples, families, solo travelers, friends and business retreats. Children ages 12 and under are eligible for special discounted rates. For an adults only vacation, contact our sister property Coco Plum Island Resort.

RESERVATION POLICY

  • You can make your reservation directly online on our booking engine or you can connect with us on the phone, email or through form submissions.
  • When using our online booking engine to check availability, if dates are unavailable, please contact us directly via email or click “enquire” to confirm availability.
  • Accommodation is not confirmed until we receive a deposit.
  • We cannot guarantee a specific room (within your chosen accommodation category) for your reservation.
  • Reservations made 30 days or less prior to arrival are to be paid in full upon booking your vacation.
  • There is a 7 nights/8 days minimum stay on all packages between Christmas (including the week before & after Christmas) & New Year (including the week after), Easter Holiday (including the week before Easter)** and Thanksgiving week which requires a 5 nights/ 6 days stay.
  • For travel agents we have specific information, please email us directly for information.
  • When checking in, our front desk team will ask for your government-issued photo ID that matches the name on your reservation and a valid credit card to have on file for incidentals and tours. You will be asked to present the credit card used for the booking to compare the last four digits on the card with those used for the booking.
  • If another party gifts you a reservation, the individual making the booking should notify the resort at the time of reservation that the payment will be charged to a credit card belonging to someone who will not be present during check-in. In these cases we require a credit card authorization form to be submitted by the purchaser.

PAYMENT POLICY

  • A 25% deposit is due at the time of booking based on the rack rate.
  • Payment in full is due 30 days prior to arrival. Except for stays between Christmas (including the week before & after Christmas) & New Year (including the week after),** which require payment in full 60 days prior to arrival.
  • If we are unable to collect the funds of your final balance 10 days after the balance is due your reservation(s) will be canceled. At which time, based on our policies, there will be no refund as your reservation(s) would be 30 days or less prior to your arrival date or 60 days or less for stays Christmas (including the week before & after Christmas) & New Year (including the week after)**, which require payment in full 60 days prior to arrival.
  • The initial deposits and remaining balances will be automatically charged through our local bank in Belize Dollars utilizing a Standard Exchange Rate (US$1 = BZ$2) and as such, are subject to exchange rate variances. Please note that Laru Beya Resort is not responsible for any currency exchange rate variances or international processing fees applied by the banks or Credit Card Companies.
  • Card payments accepted: American Express (Amex), Visa, and MasterCard Credit cards/ Debit cards.
  • Prior to the collection of payment by charging your credit/debit card, our resort reserves the right to reconfirm rates and change accordingly, if necessary.

Kindly note: Group Bookings have balance due dates that differ from the normal booking balance due dates. Please see that section for details.

RATE POLICY

  • All rates are subject to change without notice.
  • All rates are in USD and include all taxes / fees.
  • All rates are based on double occupancy in each room.
  • Rates listed on the package pages are per couple for all packages.
  • All our rates include a 10% service charge.
  • Single occupancy in each bedroom has an applicable surcharge for all packages.
  • Rates are per couple for packages unless otherwise noted and per night for all Room Only (EP) rates.
  • Maximum occupancy for each room are as follows:
  • Adult rates apply for any person 13 and over, and children rates apply for any child ages 2 - 12.
  • For rates not listed, please contact our Reservation Team.
  • Imported cocktails are available for purchase and not included in the package prices. During Happy Hour (4pm-6pm daily) we offer a 20% discount on imported liquor. Contact us for details.
  • Wines are not included in the package prices and are not eligible for Happy Hour discounts.

DISCOUNT ELIGIBILITY FOR RATES

FOR PACKAGE BOOKINGS:

  • Adults (Ages 13+):
    • 20% off when staying with two adults in one bedroom
  • Children (Ages 6-12):
    • 50% off when staying in one bedroom with two adults
    • 50% off when staying in one bedroom with two other children paying 30% off
    • 30% off when staying in one bedroom with one adult
    • 30% off when staying in one bedroom with another child paying 30% off
  • Children (Ages 2-5):
    • Charged US$75 per night when staying in one bedroom with 2 adults
    • Charged US$75 per night when staying in one bedroom with 2 children paying 30% off
    • Charged US$75 per night when staying in one bedroom with 1 adult paying single occupancy rate
    • 30% off when staying in one bedroom with another child paying 30% off
  • Children (Ages 01 - 23 months):
    • FREE when staying in one bedroom with 2 adults or 1 adult paying single occupancy
  • Please note that local flight costs and boat transfer fees valued at US$266.00 per person within all packages are not eligible for discounts.
  • Packages may have discount eligibility restrictions. Refer to each package page’s “Policies” tab in the rate information section for details on discounts.

FOR ROOM ONLY (EP) BOOKINGS:

  • Extra persons will be charged US$25 per night per person.
  • There is a 3 nights minimum stay requirement with restrictions and other details listed on this page.
  • Please contact us for rates not listed on our website.

GROUP BOOKINGS

For Group Bookings with 5 or more rooms:

  • We require the standard 25% deposit at the time of reservation based on the rack rate.
  • Non-refundable balance is due 90 days prior to arrival.

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • All cancellations must be received in writing and confirmed by our resort to be considered valid/effective.
  • Trips canceled as a result of, or due to, airline delays, strikes, sickness, world events, no-shows, premature departures, personal issues and/or as result of inclement weather, pandemics such as COVID-19 and/or acts of God including hurricanes are subject to our cancellation policy.
  • No refunds will be given for denied entry caused by failure to carry proper proof of citizenship or the appropriate visa. (Read about entry requirements on our website).
  • No refunds will be given for cancellations due to being placed into quarantine for medical issues including pandemics such as COVID-19. Rescheduled stays will be subject to rescheduling cost and policies.
  • There is a $200 USD/$400.00 BZE administration fee for all cancellations for each room. This fee will be deducted prior to all refunds.

ALL CANCELLATION MADE*:

  • 120 or more days prior to arrival date, admin fee will be deducted from the deposit, 100% of this balance will be refunded.
  • 90-119 days prior to arrival date, admin fee will be deducted from the deposit, 75% of this balance will be refunded.
  • 31-89 days prior to arrival date, admin fee will be deducted from the deposit, 50% of this balance will be refunded.
  • 30 days or less prior to arrival date, guests are entitled to NO refund.

*POLICY EXCEPTION: Cancellation on all bookings made for stays between Christmas (including the week before & after Christmas) & New Year (including the week after) will be subject to the following changes in the above policy:**

  • 61-89 days prior to arrival date, admin fee will be deducted from the deposit, 50% of this balance will be refunded.
  • 60 days or less prior to arrival date, guests are entitled to NO refund.

Cancellation on Group Bookings will be subject to the following changes in the above policy:

  • 91-119 days prior to arrival date, admin fee will be deducted from the deposit, 75% of this balance will be refunded.
  • 90 days or less prior to arrival date, guests are entitled to NO refund.

Kindly note: Group Bookings adhere to different non-refundable balance and/or deposit requirements. Please see that section for details.

RESCHEDULING POLICY*

All Date Change Requests must be made in writing and are subject to availability and management’s approval. Rescheduling Cost for such request is as follows:

  • 120 or more days prior to arrival date, guests will be subject to a US$100.00 rescheduling fee.
  • 90-119 days prior to arrival date, guests will be subject to a US$300.00 rescheduling fee.
  • 31-89 days prior to arrival date, guests will be subject to a US$450.00 rescheduling fee.
  • 30 days or less will NOT be entitled to any change of date option.
  • Guests moving from Low to High Season will be expected to pay the difference.
  • Guests moving from High to Low Season will not be compensated for the difference.

*POLICY EXCEPTION: Date Change Requests on bookings made for stays between Christmas (including the week before & after Christmas) & New Year (including the week after) will be subject to the following changes in the above policy:**

  • 61-89 days prior to arrival date, guests will be subject to a US$450.00 rescheduling fee.
  • 60 days or less will NOT be entitled to any change of date option.

Date Change Requests on Group Bookings will be subject to the following changes in the above policy:

  • 91-119 days prior to arrival date, guests will be subject to a US$300.00 rescheduling fee.
  • 90 days or less will NOT be entitled to any change of date option.

Kindly note: At the time of securing your new rescheduled dates, applicable package changes and rate increases will apply. Special offers that were previously applied to your original vacation will no longer apply to new rescheduled dates.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Room Only (EP) bookings: There is a 3 nights/4 days minimum requirement. Room Only Bookings includes accommodations only and adhere to all holiday blackout dates.** Please contact our reservations department for more details.
  • Package bookings: There is a 3 nights/4 days minimum stay, except for stays between Christmas (including the week before & after Christmas) & New Year (including the week after), Easter Holiday (including the week before Easter)** which requires a 7 nights/8 days minimum stay, as well as Thanksgiving week which requires a 5 nights/6 days minimum stay.
  • A minimum of a 14-night stay is required to book the Inland + Island package with Coco Plum Island (discontinued on 9/1/2022) or a combination stay with our sister properties between Christmas (including the week before & after Christmas) & New Year (including the week after). Easter Holiday (including the week before Easter)** and Thanksgiving.
  • Unused portions of packages (meals and/or activities, add-ons, etc.) / Trips shortened as a result of or due, but not limited, to airline delays, strikes, world events, no-shows, premature departures, personal issues, inclement weather, pandemics such as COVID-19 and/or acts of God, including hurricanes are NON-refundable and NON-transferable.
  • All additional meals, transportation, drinks, add-ons and/or tours etc. will be billed to your incidentals and should be paid for at check-out or the resort reserves the right to charge your credit card on file.
  • Laru Beya Resort cannot accept responsibility for any delay, inconvenience, damaged possessions, sickness or additional expenses incurred which may be caused either directly or indirectly by events outside our control such as weather, late arrival of flights, pandemics such as COVID-19 or acts of God.
  • All guests acknowledge and agree that they are fully aware of the contagious nature and effects of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume that risk and responsibility and further agree that they will release, indemnify and hold harmless Laru Beya Resort, and their respective parent corporations, affiliates, subsidiaries insurers, directors, officers, employees, managers, successors, assigns, agents and representatives, against any claims and/or damages whatsoever, including legal fees relating to any infection, transmission, health condition influenced or otherwise impacted or complication by COVID-19 and other pandemics.
  • The bartender reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who has clearly exceeded their limit.
  • The resort management declines all responsibilities for valuables left in the room after checkout.
  • Smoking of any substance in our rooms is strictly prohibited. If smoking is detected at any time during or immediately after a guests’ stay, management reserves the right to charge a cleaning fee of US$500 per room.
  • Additional À La Carte services and Package Add-Ons can be arranged for an additional fee, please contact us. Unused portions are non-refundable and non-transferable to other bookings or guests.

COMBINATION/SISTER PROPERTY VACATIONS

You can split your vacation between Laru Beya and our family of sister properties. Contact us for rates and availability. If you have already booked your vacation in full with Laru Beya, however, and would like to switch your reservation to Belizean Dreams, Manta Island or Coco Plum Island, that is not allowed. Although they are our sister resorts, we are managed separately and therefore we would require you to cancel with us in writing directly (adhering to our Cancellation Policy) and thereafter book with Belizean Dreams, Manta Island or Coco Plum Island in accordance with their booking policy as each resort is managed separately and has policies accordingly. All resort policies apply to combination/sister property vacations with the addition of the following cancellation & rescheduling details: CANCELLATIONS FEES:

  • Cancellations for combination vacations with our sister properties will only be charged a $100 admin fee by each resort at which you are staying.

ALL CANCELLATIONS MADE*:

  • 120 or more days prior to arrival date, admin fee (US$100 per resort) will be deducted from the deposit, 100% of this balance will be refunded.
  • 90-119 days prior to arrival date, admin fee (US$100 per resort) will be deducted from the deposit, 75% of this balance will be refunded.
  • 31-89 days prior to arrival date, admin fee (US$100 per resort) will be deducted from the deposit, 50% of this balance will be refunded.
  • 30 days or less prior to arrival date, guests are entitled to NO refund.

*POLICY EXCEPTION: Cancellation on booking made for stays between Christmas (including the week before & after Christmas) & New Year (including the week after) will be subject to the following changes in the above policy**:

  • 61-89 days prior to arrival date, admin fee (US$100 per resort)  will be deducted from the deposit, 50% of this balance will be refunded.

RESCHEDULING*: When rescheduling combination vacations with our sister properties there will only be one applicable rescheduling fee charged by each resort at which you are staying, depending on the days prior to arrival as listed below. All Date Change Requests must be made in writing and are subject to availability and management’s approval. Rescheduling Cost for such request is as follows:

  • 120 or more days prior to arrival date, guests will be subject to a US$50.00 rescheduling fee at each resort.
  • 90-119 days prior to arrival date, guests will be subject to a US$150.00 rescheduling fee at each resort.
  • 31-89 days prior to arrival date, guests will be subject to a US$225.00 rescheduling fee at each resort.
  • 30 days or less will NOT be entitled to any change of date option.
  • Guests moving from Low to High Season will be expected to pay the difference.
  • Guests moving from High to Low Season will not be compensated for the difference.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR TOURS

Belize is located in the jungle tropics, known for its melting pot of diverse cultures and pristine one of a kind landscape, architectures, flora and fauna. It is also one of the most visited tourist destinations. However, acts of nature are sometimes beyond our control and may temporarily hinder the natural path and attractiveness of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.

  • Package tours as well as tours included in Package Add-On must be chosen according to our daily tour schedule.
  • Unused portions of tours, Add-Ons, and À La Carte services are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • Any tours, Add-Ons or additional services canceled within 24 hours are non-transferable and non-refundable.
  • Tours and Add-Ons arranged on days other than our scheduled tour days are subject to an upgrade fee per person.
  • Exact dates for specialty/À La Carte tours (any adventures outside of scheduled package trips) Add-Ons and massages will be confirmed upon arrival, as they are scheduled by the Front Desk.
  • Tours, Add-Ons, services and À La Carte rates are subject to change without notice.
  • All boat itineraries and activities are weather and conditions permitting at resort’s discretion.
  • Trips & tours canceled as a result of, or due to, airline delays, strikes, world events, no-shows, premature departures, personal issues and/or as a result of inclement weather and/or acts of God including hurricanes are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • We cannot guarantee the clarity of the ocean at all times as a result of weather.

INSURANCE

  • There is risk involved in any outdoor activity and accidents may occur, therefore at Laru Beya Resort we consider safety our most important concern.
  • It is recommended that guests purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy at the time of your booking to protect you against illness, injury, loss of personal items and baggage, cancellation, and other travel contingencies.
  • At this time, we do not offer travel insurance through Laru Beya Resort.

TIPS/GRATUITIES

  • Our rates already include a 10% service charge which is distributed equally among all our staff.
  • Operating Laru Beya is a team effort which involves a lot of behind-the-scenes staff along with our awesome front line personnel and we believe that everyone plays an important role in your stay with us. If you decide to leave a gratuity, it is entirely up to your discretion and is based on the quality of service you received. There is nothing too small or big and anything is appreciated.
  • Because we are an all inclusive property, we advise against tipping individually on a daily basis so that you do not have to worry about carrying cash/credit cards with you while you are enjoying your vacation. Instead, we strongly suggest that you finalize your tips at the front desk upon checkout where you are able to write your specific instructions regarding your tip amount and how you would like it to be distributed along with your signature.
  • Utilizing the front desk as the contact point is essential to ensuring that tips will be sent to our accounting department, which manages proper and transparent distribution through the staff’s bank accounts.
