First you will need to find Belize. Located on the beautiful Caribbean Sea, just south of Mexico it is only a two hour flight from either Houston or Miami.

As you can see from the map we are a rather small country with a total population of just over 250,000 and have the distinction of being the only English speaking country in Central America. Our local currency, the Belize dollar is permanently fixed at a 2 to 1 exchange rate to the U.S. dollar.

The climate is sub-tropical with cooling sea breezes. The coastal areas of Belize enjoy trade winds averaging 10-12 knots. The annual mean temperature is 79 degrees and you can look for the temperature to average a fantastic 75 degrees through the winter months and an enjoyable 81 degrees in the summer months.

To help with making your airline reservations here is useful information. You will be flying into Belize City (BZE) which is our largest city and the location of our international airport. You have a good selection of airlines -Continental out of Houston and Newark, American out of Miami and Dallas, U.S. Air out of Charlotte, Delta out of Atlanta and Taca out of a number of Central American cities.

For tourists from the USA, Canada and most European countries the only requirement is a valid passport. When you arrive in Belize you are issued a visitors visa for a stay of up to 30 days. Visitors with passports from some countries require a visa to enter Belize. Check with the Belize Embassy or Consulate nearest you.
